When someone is in need of emergency or temporary accommodation, they’re not just facing housing insecurity they’re likely at one of the lowest, most uncertain, and scariest points in their life.
Whether they’ve been affected by homelessness as a result of leaving the military, domestic abuse, mental health struggles, or financial hardship, being placed into a room often in a B&B or hotel with no support, no privacy, and no hope can feel more like punishment than a step forward.
But what if this was the moment we made the biggest difference?
What if we saw this not just as a stop-gap, but as an opportunity to engage, support, and uplift?
Temporary accommodation shouldn’t be where hope fades, it should be where hope starts to rebuild.
